Although its name is very generic, this toy is anything but! It is smooth, purple-tinted jelly, and can be used for both vaginal and anal penetration. One end is a classic rocket-shaped dildo; the other is “beaded” for anal pleasure. The beads themselves are a connected jelly-wand as well, so do not fear losing it inside during penetration! This pleasure-aid is very versatile, although it must be washed well in between if used for both anal and vaginal penetration. It is also important to use a liberal amount of lube, especially for anal penetration…we recommend Anal Lube, original formula.

I'll admit I am a pupil in the School of all that is Anal. I'm still learning—at a very slow rate, I might add—what works, what doesn't, and what I'm willing to try. That said I gave the Spectra-Gel Anal Plug, by Doc Johnson, a go. These jelly anal plugs are less intimidating than the hard plastic plugs or anal beads that more experienced anal players use. Of course the key to successful anal play is lubrication and for this adventure I chose to use Astroglide Personal Lubricant.
The Spectra-Gel plug is tapered at the point of insertion, which makes for an easier glide. Of course if you are not used to anal penetration than it may feel a bit uncomfortable. I found that lying on my side or on my stomach made insertion easier. I can't stress enough—LUBRICATION! Not enough lube will result in the possible tearing of the rectum, or at the very least irritating it. The jelly material of the plug certainly made the experience more enjoyable.
So, if you are looking to create an anal toy box or add to your current toy box I recommend giving Doc Johnsons Spectra-Gel Anal Plugs a try.

Nice starter plug.

This was a great starter plug for me when I first began exploring anal play. It's on the small side but if you are not used to having anything up there you will be surprised by how good it feels. It's such a sensitive area and I can't even describe how amazing it was to move this in and out gently while having my clit rubbed. If you have found anal play intimidating or painful in the past, don't give up! Try this plug on for size. It's super small, super soft and moves in and out easily with a bit of lube so the only thing you will experience is pure pleasure. In no time you'll find yourself losing your anal inhibitions and wanting to upgrade to larger or firmer toys, maybe even give anal sex a go!

This is a great beginner toy. Now that my husband and I have spent some time exploring my ass, I've found that I prefer something stronger, more solid, and vibrating. However, this is great for getting started and I love using it on him during oral sex. He says it feels great on his prostate.
